Since August we've had the oldest starting 2nd grade!
If I could get a great picture of little one's first day back at her new school I would post it. But alas on the first day of school the bus company didn't give the driver her harness to wear on the bus and I had to drive her to school. Which wasn't great. It has taken awhile to get into the swing of things since her summer break but she is back to loving school again!
Then this is where I spend every day now:
Every kid with a laptop and little ol me with my spiral notebook. LoL.
Alas it's not really like that. In my philosophy class I am older than my professor and all the students. I'm pretty sure they were all born after I graduated from high school. All of my social work classes are a split of returning adults students (me!) and 20 year olds. That is pretty cool. Everyone I started with this semester will be graduating at the same time. We have to take all of our classes and do our internship in a certain sequence. The bonus of me not finishing school 20 years ago is that I have senior status thanks to all of my credit hours. I literally could get a Bachelors diploma at the end of next semester with all the hours I have.
That's part of my reading. All the books in the back are books for papers this semester. Ever try to do a paper after not being in school for 20 years? yeah, good times. lol. You can see I don't have a lot of time post on other blogs and really not my own.
Of course there is my Weight Watchers weekly pamphlets. Yes, I'm still going. Am I busting through my plateau? I was but then school got crazy. It has kept me in check though. Holy cow is food on campus so not healthy and $$$. grr. When the vending machine charges $1.25 for a snickers bar it makes you say it REALLY is not worth 6/7 points+ for the damn thing. It's also good that one of my Social Work professors has started WW again along with another student so hopefully I can be more cognizant of walking way past the damn tasty mozzarella sticks at school!!
So if our lives didn't already get crazy busy with me going back to school I thought it was brilliant to get our oldest swim lessons for her birthday for the fall! Then I though well let's see about the little one because she needs lessons to. Turns out that our special recreation group was starting lessons 3 weeks after the oldest started and they still had a spot at the same time group as the oldest. She's just in a different area of the pool.
So the first week they are to go together my husband had to go out of town for work. I was prepared to do everything by myself and completely freaked out as going out with little one can be an event in itself. Turns out I was worried for nothing!
She loved swimming!!I had a few fears. Most importantly was her waiting for her time to go into the pool and transitioning out of the pool. Her teacher had made a picture schedule with a first/then picture for her to follow. She loved it. She transitioned easily and got dressed without an issue. Walked out to the car no problem!
Each week that we have gone back has been just as good as the previous week. We walk out on the deck and tell her she has to wait and she sits down and WAITS!! It's pretty damn amazing!
I honestly can't imagine this a few months ago before she started at her new school. It's pretty awesome!
